1st Week
This is a picture of a female in the first week of
pregnancy, she was one of my breeders that dropped, within a day or 2 of the
photo. Here you can see the shape of a healthy female, with the gravid spot
showing just a pink color which are the newly developing eggs. It takes 28 days
at 80 degrees for the fry to develop, and emerge free swimming into the world.
2nd Week
This photo shows the female gaining
weight and size, needed to produce a healthy batch of fry. You can see a dark
spot, these are also eggs that are developed more than the previous week. The
stomach area is now rounder.
3rd Week
In the next set of photos bellow you will be able to see 2 different views of the third week.
Photo on the left still shows a slight pink color, the right photos shows, that Torpedo shape in the first week, as more of a football. Pay close attention at this time to the color of the gravid spot, some females will drop at 21 days or more.
4th Week
The last week will show a more boxed shape, this photo is the day before she dropped.

Thank you for stopping by, I do hope these photos are helpful..
